Rule Definition
When using binary (COMP) data items, the use of the SYNCHRONIZED clause specifies that the binary data items will be properly aligned on halfword, fullword, or doubleword boundaries. This may enhance the performance of certain operations on some machines.
Remediation
Add the SYNCHRONIZED (SYNC) clause to data items declared with the COMP usage.
